PACKETVIDEO CEO TALKS WIRELESS CONVERGENCE AT WORLD’S LARGEST CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY TRADESHOW

CEO James Brailean Positions PacketVideo at the Center of Convergence

The upcoming International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas will spotlight wireless convergence, featuring panelists from Nokia, Sprint, Motorola and Danger, plus PacketVideo CEO Dr. James Brailean, Ph.D. The panelists will speak on Thursday, January 6 from noon to 1 p.m. in room S206-207 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Nick Wingfield, technology business reporter for the Wall Street Journal, will moderate the panel.

“Because we build multimedia software for handset companies all over the world, we’re uniquely positioned at the center of convergence. With consumer electronics features like TV, camcorders, music players, and digital cameras all gravitating to mobile phones, multimedia software is now the ‘lifeware’ inside the phone,” said Brailean. “I’m thrilled to be in such great company, and look forward to a lively discussion about the future of wireless.”

The panel will address the mobile battlefield and the challenges faced by cell phones, PDAs and other consumer electronics devices. Panelists will discuss the convergence of Wi-Fi with wireless products and its impact on mobile devices, as well as the future of convergence and the industry’s next-generation technologies. At the forefront of the advances in mobile multimedia technology, PacketVideo works with the world’s leading handset providers and develops software to enable the popular multimedia capabilities such as two-way video conferencing.
